Today I was attacked by a cop. A white pajero was turning into me, I beeped the horn, then it started coming at me more and I couldn’t move away because of the narrow street (under the salmiya bridge), so I beeped the horn again thinking he didn’t see me, then he went faster in front of me and slammed on his brakes. Thankfully, I stopped in time and no one was behind me, but I almost rear ended him.

He got out of the car and told me to go to the side of the road. I did. He gets out of the car and as he’s walking toward me I yell, what did you try to hit me? He says, don’t worry about that, why are you beeping your horn at me? I told him, I’m beeping my horn because you were turning into me and trying to hit me and I thought you didn’t see me. He says, come to the station with me. I told him, I’m not going anywhere with you. First you tried to hit me and almost kill me, and second you’re not in a cop car (meaning he wasn’t on duty). He told me, you can’t drive and act like this on these roads. I then say, what? I am a Kuwaiti, you don’t think I am?

His tone and his face change then from being angry, to almost being polite, he says, I am a kuwaiti too, I am just trying to talk to you about something, I say, oh so when you want to talk to someone you try to first hit them and crash their car? I then told him that my uncle was in the police (he is) and I’ll be reporting him to my uncle, he then walks away, takes my licnese plate number, then comes back and asks me again if I’ll go to the station with him (asking me this time), I said no way, then he says “khalas (thats it)” and drives off.

I also took his license plate number. I will be talking to my uncle about this. He threatened my life and if not for me braking in time, I could’ve gotten into an accident. I don’t want this cop doing anything like this again to anyone else.
